Full Cycle Health · Fertility awareness education

Body literacy for every body

We teach evidence-based menstrual cycle charting through private coaching and small-group programs—so you can read your fertile signs, care for your health, and make informed choices about contraception, conception, and perimenopause.

Led by fertility awareness educator Sophia Bush Anderson, in person in Wolfville, Nova Scotia and online. From your first period through midlife transitions—including coming off hormonal birth control—you build real skill, not guesswork.

Mindfulness and body wisdom
The Vision

Your body has its own individual ecology

This approach invites you to become the expert on your own experience. By exploring the terrain of your body—its boundaries, patterns, and points of change—you begin to understand what is normal for you.

With this data, you can recognize the patterns of each season and spot the signs of dis-ease. This is about deep self-understanding and true agency.

“There is no reason why women shouldn’t have as much information about their bodies as physicians do.”

Dr. Jane Patterson, M.D.

Meet Your Guide

Empowerment through Body Literacy.

I’m Sophia Bush Anderson. I teach body literacy so that people can understand their cycles, health, and choices with more clarity and agency. Learning the language of our own bodies helps us be in better relationship to ourselves—and to one another.

My teaching is still shaped by years as a dance artist and Pilates instructor, and by a commitment to justice that runs through my studies in international development, sustainability, and community development at Dalhousie and Acadia Universities.

In 2023 I enrolled at Justisse College International in a two-year, master’s-level program to become a Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner (HRHP) and a Fertility Awareness Educator (FAE). The training is rigorous and full-time, moving from the social and cultural history of contraception to reproductive endocrinology and physiology, and through to the foundations of holistic health. After a year of maternity leave, I am entering my supervised clinical practicum beginning April 1.

You can read more about Justisse College and its programs here. I am also a member of the Association of Fertility Awareness Professionals (AFAP).

This work is for anyone who wants their pregnancy, birth, and parenting to be consensual.

Common Questions

Clarifications on the method and how we work together.

How will we meet?

We offer flexible meeting options to fit your life. Sessions are available both online via secure video conferencing or in person at our local practice space in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada.

How do I know this is for me?

Ask yourself: Do you want to learn more about your body? Do you want to know how to prevent pregnancy effectively with just your own detective skills? Do you want to avoid hormonal disruptors or achieve pregnancy more quickly? If you want to improve your menstrual health or understand the seasons of your cycle, you're in the right place.

What's involved in the learning process?

We go deep into reproductive anatomy, the mechanisms of the menstrual cycle, and primary signs of fertility. You'll learn to observe these in your body daily and chart them according to the Justisse Method. This may also involve lifestyle or diet changes depending on your goals.

What if I'm going through perimenopause?

You're right on time. Charting can help you make sense of the perimenopausal transition, understand where you are in it, and empower you with knowledge to take meaningful action—whether for health maintenance or reproductive goals.

I'm tracking my period with an app. How is this different?

An app uses calculations to estimate when you might ovulate based on your past. This systematic method is about checking in real-time with your day-to-day changes. It's about getting closer to your body and confirming ovulation accurately.

What if I'm currently using a hormonal contraceptive?

You can still learn how to chart! While hormonal methods suppress biomarkers, starting the education now prepares you for the transition. Let's do a discovery call so I can find out more about your intentions.

Are you associated with a church or religious organization?

No. Fertility Awareness-Based Methods are split into two groups. Natural Family Planning (NFP) methods are religious, while Fertility Awareness Methods (FAM) are secular. The Justisse Method is the largest secular FABM in the world.

Whatever your reproductive goals—whether you are TTC or TTA—this is for you if you want a secular, evidence-based path toward agency, empowerment, and the freedom that comes from truly understanding your body.

A private container where we learn how to chart for health, cycle literacy, reproductive sovereignty, and the practical habits that help your chart tell a clearer story.

This option fits especially well when you want more flexibility, room to move at your own pace, space to bring a partner, focused support through conception delays or health questions, or a private setting where you can go as deep as you need without an audience.

For organizations & groups

Youth workshop

Period Positivity Workshop

Youth ages 8–12 · one 3-hour workshop

A lively, educational body-literacy workshop for youth ages 8–12: participants build the knowledge and language they need to relate to their period and cycle with confidence, curiosity, and care.

The offering includes a three-hour facilitated session, all materials, and a take-home period pouch for each participant. Past partners include Family Resource Centres, Girl Guides, the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), and the Town of Wolfville.

Perimenopause education

Perimenopause Unlocked

Ages 35–55 · one 3-hour lab

This lab is built to demystify perimenopause and normalize what can feel like a lonely, confusing stretch. We cover hormonal and physiological patterns in plain language and translate that understanding into practical strategies for health, empowerment, and self-care.

The session is three hours and is intended for people who cycle, ages 35–55—whether you are starting to notice changes or already navigating a bumpier season and want grounded information you can use right away.
